The castle of Neuschwanstein:
One of the most famous buildings in the world.

The Wieskirche:
One of the most magnificently decorated rococo style church in the country situated in the landscape “Pfaffenwinckel”. Protected by the UNESCO. In its beautiful surroundings you can find another 158 churches and chapels.
The castle of Linderhof:
Where King Ludwig II of Bavaria really lived. A living Jewelry-box with its artificial cave built to perform Wagner’s Lohengrin opera.
Glentleiten:
Largest open air museum of South Bavaria. It includes 60 typical restored old cottages from the upper Bavaria with its furniture and antique working machinery which allows to have a look back how Bavarian people lived and worked centuries ago. The museum has an interesting program of activities for adults and children during the year.
Munich:
Capital of Bavaria. Center of art and culture. Worth seeing: the Lord Mayors House, the football stadium and of course the Hofbräuhaus. the most typical beer house of Germany. Very famous: the “Oktoberfest” one of the biggest folk festival of the world which starts at the end of Sept. until mid Oct.
Garmisch-
Partenkirchen:
At the foot of the Zugspitze highest mountain of the German alps. Famous for its ski jumping competition on every 1st of January. Olympic skiing area with many shops and good restaurants.
Zugspitze:
With 2.962 meters it is the highest mountain of Germany. Beautiful round trip by cable car and rack railway. On the top you will enjoy a breathtaking view over more than 400 summits of the Alps! Long lasting ski season at the Schneeferner glacier.
The canyon of the good spirit:
Just 15 minutes away of the center of Mittenwald. Enjoy the breath taking walk of 800 m along the ravine over wild water and meet the good spirit of the canyon. Will you be the one who finds the gnome who lives there?
Seefeld:
Small little village on a plateau in the middle of a ski centre with nice downhill slopes and the longest cross country tracks in Europe. In the summer time you can enjoy beautiful hiking and mountain bike tours.
Innsbruck:
The capital of Tyrol only 35 km from Mittenwald. Twice Olympic city in 1964 and 1976. Also famous for its ski jumping competition every January. Visit the beautiful old historic town centre with its famous “golden roof”, the churches and typical shops.
